Halton Healthcare is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect nursing care to surgical patients. The successful candidate will work within a multidisciplinary team, rotating through various perioperative and ambulatory services. The role requires good technical skills, adherence to standards of practice, and experience in ophthalmology and cystoscopy.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, execute, direct, and evaluate nursing care for surgical patients
Rotate through perioperative and ambulatory services
Demonstrate good technical operating room skills
Provide constructive feedback and act as a resource and role model
Prioritize assignments and perform in emergency situations
Assist with patient transfers, turns, and lifts
Maintain flexibility in scheduling to meet operating room needs
Participate in continued learning and professional development
Collaborate with the team and demonstrate a positive attitude
Qualifications:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
BCLS Certification required
Minimum of two years perioperative experience
Experience in ophthalmology and cystoscopy preferred
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, and communication skills
Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback
Physically able to perform job duties, including heavy lifting
Good attendance record and flexibility in scheduling

Hours: Various rotating shifts, including on-call duties
