This job posting is for a Registered Nurse position at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital in Nanaimo, BC. The nurse will be responsible for providing direct nursing care to patients in the hospital or community, following unit/program philosophy, competency guidelines, policies, and BCCNM Standards for Nursing Practice in British Columbia.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Training And Experience: Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant. Recent experience in acute medical/surgical nursing, and completion of a basic arrhythmia interpretation course, or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and training.
Skills And Abilities:
Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrated ability to organize assigned workload and set priorities.
Demonstrated ability in arrhythmia interpretation as evidenced by successful completion of a VIHA Basic Arrhythmia course within the past year, or a mark of 75% on the VIHA ECG Challenge Exam.
Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of internal and external contacts, including co-workers, physicians, community agency representatives, patients, residents, and families.
