Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Your role will involve supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS. You may be required to cross-train to other areas within Stollery to support patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
Performing nursing duties in accordance with clinical policies and standards
Collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to make decisions
Playing a leadership role in patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
Providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Successful completion of required free courses if not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five years
Passing the Stollery Pre-hire Interview Medication Administration Exam
Passing the Stollery Medication Administration Exam with 90% or greater during orientation
Completing the Stollery PEARS course during orientation
Meeting all organizational policy requirements for employment
Preference given to those with specialized clinical competencies and pediatric experience
