Under the direct supervision of the Manager, or designate, the Registered Nurse will work in a multidisciplinary environment at Leduc Community Hospital, providing care to patients referred to the Family Medicine/Post-Acute Units. The RN will assess patient needs, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for patients admitted to Family Medicine and Subacute.

As a Registered Nurse, you will provide nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will use critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills to teach, counsel, and advocate for patients. Additionally, you will support an integrated approach to patient care and health promotion while upholding AHS values.

Key Responsibilities:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program

Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider certification

Possess good decision-making skills and sound judgment

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work in a physically challenging environment

Knowledge of nursing clinical best practice standards

Respect and professionalism with staff, patients, and families

Clear and assertive communication skills

Recent charge nurse experience

Basic keyboarding/computer skills

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in care of PICC lines and/or blood draws

Experience in the care of medical, post-operative surgical, orthopedic, and Subacute patients

Able to work in a physically challenging environment with walking, bending, and lifting; therefore, must be able to safely work within heavy physical demands. Knowledge of nursing clinical best practice standards/protocols and nursing practice fundamentals. Demonstrates respect and professionalism with staff, patients, families, and others.
