Required Qualifications:

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.

If not practiced as a Registered Nurse in the past five years, completion of free courses: CRNA Medication Management (Chapters 1-4) and NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.

Additional Required Qualifications:

At least 2 years of current acute care experience in a med/surg or emergency environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

Current ICU/CCU nursing experience.

Completion of the OPPACA program (orientation program for adult critical care in Alberta).

ACLS certification.

Continuing Education in Critical Care (i.e. ACCN or CNA certification).

Hemodialysis nursing experience.

The GPRH ICU/CCU Department has various care level spaces including ICU, CCU, Stepdown and inpatient hemodialysis. We also support outpatient cardioversions and TEEs. Successful candidates will be supported with education and progress from caring for stepdown level of care patients to ICU level of care patients.
