Description:
As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Your role will involve supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Additionally, you will deliver safe, quality patient and family-centered care while upholding shared vision and values.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations
Utilize critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families
Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance
Deliver safe, quality patient and family-centered care
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent Labour and Delivery experience in an urban L & D setting (minimum 6 months within the last year)
Current Fetal Health Surveillance education within the last 3 years
Current NRP certification
Demonstrated motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Effective teamwork, time management, communication, and critical thinking skills
Strong organizational and patient-teaching skills
Skill in the principles of patient- and family-centered care
Physical abilities to meet job requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Charge Nurse experience
Operating Room experience
L&D Triage/OTAS experience
Antepartum experience
Professional development and/or participation in quality improvement initiatives
Consideration for new graduates who completed their senior practicum on a Labour and Delivery unit
