The University of Alberta Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide nursing services in a dynamic acute care environment. The successful candidate will play a leadership role in patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. This position is anchored to a seasonal surge space and may require floating to additional Medicine units as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize nursing processes to provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care
Teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families
Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals
Work on multiple units as operationally required
Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Minimum two (2) years recent acute care nursing experience preferred
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
Willingness to work on multiple units as operationally required
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience caring for patients with complex medical conditions
Charge Nurse training
Connect Care experience
Ability to support and improve patient flow throughout clinical operations
