Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will identify client needs and coordinate care planning with the interdisciplinary team. Your responsibilities will include facilitating client and family teaching, developing care plans, and ensuring services are provided and modified as needed. You will also make timely referrals to stakeholders and provide direct care when necessary. Experience in wound care, wound care principles and products, palliative care, and home parenteral therapy will be essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe and quality patient and family-centered care
  • Support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care and health promotion
  • Utilize nursing processes, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
  • Coordinate care planning with the interdisciplinary team
  • Facilitate client and family teaching
  • Develop and modify care plans as needed
  • Make timely referrals to stakeholders
  • Provide direct care when necessary
  • Required Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Additional Required Qualifications:

  • Physically able to perform all assigned tasks, including physical exertion
  • May involve visits to client homes that are not ideal
  • Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years Home Care experience within the last 5 years
  • Experience with Connect Care, Service Authorizations, RAI-HC, Netcare, and AADLs
  • Experience with HPT, wound care, client teaching, and palliative support
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, time management, and teamwork skills
