The Town of Westlock is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the team at Westlock Healthcare Center. This position offers a mix of urban amenities with a country lifestyle, along with an active arts and culture scene. The emergency department is fast-paced and requires individuals with good communication and organizational skills. Successful candidates will have access to advanced certifications and professional development opportunities.

As an RN, you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. You will play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. The role involves critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, teaching, counseling, and advocating on behalf of patients and their families.

• Completion of an accredited nursing education program
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification

Additional qualifications include the ability to work shift work, strong assessment and communication skills, recent ER experience, and the ability to work independently in high-stress situations. Candidates must also be team players, willing to train and help in all areas of the hospital as required.

Preferred qualifications include ACLS, TNCC, PALS, CTAS certifications, as well as rural experience.
