The University of Alberta Hospital (UAH) is seeking a Registered Nurse to join their Emergency department, a busy tertiary care level I emergency department open 24/7. The RN will provide nursing services to patients, families, and communities, ensuring their safety and well-being. This role involves critical thinking, problem-solving, decision-making, teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and families. The RN will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.

Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program
Active or eligible for registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
2 years of med/surg/acute care RN experience
Current Basic Life Support (BLS - Heart and Stroke AED Level C REQUIRED) - Healthcare Provider Registration
Excellent communication skills
Ability to assist in transporting, lifting, and positioning patients
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year of Emergency RN experience
Recent nursing experience in a tertiary/urban center
Recent critical care experience in the last 2 years
ACLS, TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NRP certifications
Certified Emergency Nurse (CAN or CNE) an asset
Demonstrated excellent assessment, organizational, patient care, and leadership skills
