Key Responsibilities:
Function to the full scope of nursing practice per the College of Nurse of Ontario
Demonstrate clinical competence in surgical nursing skills
Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members
Think critically, set priorities, and organize work based on patient needs
Commit to ongoing learning and professional development
Assume leadership roles and demonstrate self-motivation for continuing education
Have effective organizational, problem-solving, and teaching skills
Demonstrate ability to perform well in emergency situations
Qualifications:
Diploma or Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing
Registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario
Current BCLS and ACLS certifications
Physical Assessment Course completion
Critical Care 1 and 2 certifications
Minimum 5 years PACU/CCU experience
Minimum 2 years adult and pediatric surgical experience
Recent PACU certificate preferred
PALS certification preferred
Procedural Sedation Nurse experience preferred
Day surgery and Recovery room experience preferred
Laser Certificate preferred

North York General provides a competitive compensation package and the opportunity to join the Hospital Pension Plan. This Part Time Casual position offers 8-hour shifts on an as-needed basis at the Operating Room, Ophthalmology Department at Minor Surgical & Elder Care, 243 Consumers Rd.
