As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, you will also teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Playing a leadership role, you will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance, while providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care in line with the organization's vision and values. Provisional Permit holders will receive $40.76 to $55.79 per hour, with adjustments upon obtaining a full practice permit.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program

Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)

Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification

Eligibility for Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who graduated within 12 months prior to the program start date

Candidates must review UNA Letter of Understanding #29 - Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program before the interview

Additional Required Qualifications:

Graduated from nursing program less than 1 year ago

Recent experience with acute internal medicine and pulmonary patients

Current It's Your Move and N95 fit test

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in central lines, including PICCs

PCA certified

Experience with Vac Dressings and Chest tubes

This isn't about "hitting the ground running". It's about growing into your role with the support you deserve. After transitioning to independent practice, you will be required to apply for available vacant positions of no less than 0.5 FTE in a similar practice setting, ideally within the same unit, program, site, or office.
