As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing critical thinking and problem-solving skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Your role will involve playing a leadership role in supporting an integrated approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Providing safe, quality patient-centered care while reflecting the organization's vision and values is essential.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Eligibility for Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months prior to the program start date and have not secured a regular position with AHS, Covenant Health, or Recovery Alberta.
Review of UNA Letter of Understanding #29 - Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program prior to the interview.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recent cardiac experience.
Ability to stand for long periods, lift a minimum of 50lbs, and assist patients with mobilization and transport.
Excellent assessment, documentation, clinical, organizational, and patient care skills.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Identify own learning needs and seek guidance in professional practice.
Successful completion of Cardiology Unit Specific Courses and content review.
