As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Playing a leadership role, you will support an integrated and holistic approach to patient care and health promotion. Reflecting the organization's shared vision and values, you will provide safe, quality patient and family-centered care.
Required Qualifications:
Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
Eligibility restricted to Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months prior to the anticipated start date of the program and have not yet obtained a regular position with AHS, Covenant Health, or Recovery Alberta.
Candidates selected for an interview must review the UNA Letter of Understanding #29 - Graduate Nurse Transition Pilot Program prior to the interview.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Recruitment Initiative payment of $2,500 for new hires accepting Regular Full-time UNA positions located north of the 57th Parallel.
Northern Allowance (annual maximum of $6,300) payable on an hourly basis for hours paid at the basic rate of pay.
Retention Payment (annual maximum of $2,500) for Regular Full-time employment.
Opportunities for career development, including additional paid leave for professional development.
Annual reimbursement for one round trip, departing from a location above the 57th parallel, to any destination within Alberta for permanent and temporary employees working above the 57th parallel for over one year.
