Description:

As a Registered Nurse (RN), you will provide a wide variety of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being. Utilizing critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, you will teach, counsel, and advocate for patients and their families. Your role will involve playing a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance while providing safe, quality patient and family-centered care.

The position is classified as SN Registered Nurse NGT under the United Nurses of Alberta union in the Urology Specialty Clinic at Rockyview General Hospital. The temporary full-time benefits position will be available starting on September 14, 2026, and ending on September 12, 2027. The shift pattern is days with 7.75 hours per shift, 19 shifts per cycle, and 4 weeks per shift length.

  • Completion of an accredited nursing education program
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
  • Eligibility for Graduate Nurses, Graduate Psychiatric Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Registered Psychiatric Nurses who have graduated within 12 months
  • Completion of an approved nursing education program within the past 12 months
  • Active or eligible registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta
  • Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification
  • Demonstrated understanding of infection prevention, aseptic technique, medication safety, and safe patient handling
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position
  • Previous experience in healthcare settings
  • Exposure to outpatient procedures, sterile technique, catheterization, wound care, or medication administration
  • Basic knowledge of common urological conditions and terminology
