This job posting is for a Registered Practical Nurse position at Lanark Lodge. The responsibilities include performing nursing procedures in accordance with the Standards of Practice and Scope of Practice set by the College of Nurses of Ontario. Key Responsibilities:
Complete nursing procedures such as medication administration, wound care, and respiratory assessments.
Assist in assessing residents' needs, developing care plans, and evaluating care provided.
Provide emotional and physical support to residents and ensure their safety.
Report any significant changes in residents' conditions to the Registered Nurse.
Collaborate with the healthcare team to modify care plans and treatments as needed.
Conduct health training for residents and direct Personal Support Workers in social activities.
Maintain personal and professional development and stay updated on best practices.
Possess strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Qualifications:
Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Practical Nurse.
Completion of a Registered Practical Nurse program with a medication administration course or equivalent.
Current CPR certification is required.
Preferably trained in Gentle Persuasive Approach, Palliative care, and elder care courses.
Ability to meet the physical and cognitive demands of the job.
