Shared Health is seeking a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will provide professional nursing services to patients with complex health needs under the supervision of the Manager Health Services. The position involves independent nursing services, treatment administration, leadership within the healthcare team, and coordination of patient care and discharge.

Experience

Recent, related mental health experience preferred.

Education

Graduate of an approved Registered Psychiatric Nursing program or approved Registered Nursing program required.

Certification/Licensure/Registration

Active registration with the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) or the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) required.

Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training in accordance with Employer policy.

Qualifications and Skills

Knowledge of relevant standards, ethics, and regulations.

Effective communication skills.

Ability to prioritize care, delegate tasks, and adapt to changing situations.

 Personal Health Information Act (PHIA), Protection of Persons in Care Act, Mental Health Act, Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS), Principles of Routine Practices (Universal Precautions) and other legislated acts.
 Roles and responsibilities of members of the healthcare team.
 Principles of delegation.
 Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
 Preference will be given to those applicants competent in an Aboriginal language and/or knowledge in Aboriginal customs, traditions and values.
