Description:

The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing services in various areas of the hospital, including adult ICU, Level 2 NICU, Paediatrics, Emergency, Operating Room, Medical/Surgical units, Dialysis, and Chronic Care. Services offered include diagnostic studies, airway management, ventilator management, high-risk deliveries, and support services to the department of anesthesia.

Qualifications

Education:

- Graduate of an approved Respiratory Therapy program

- Current RRT registration with the CSRT

- Current General Certificate of Registration with the CRTO

- NRP certification

- PALS and ACLS certification preferred

Experience:

- Minimum of one (1) year of experience in an acute healthcare setting preferred

Competencies:

- Strong communication skills in English

- Computer literacy

- Working knowledge of equipment used in cardio respiratory patient assessment and treatment

- Commitment to assisting patients with cardio respiratory disorders

- Ability to work independently and in a team

- Organizational and multitasking skills

- Knowledge of quality improvement programs
