This job posting is for a permanent full-time position at the Portage Regional Health Centre in Portage la Prairie. The successful candidate will work in the Emergency Department providing therapeutic, diagnostic, technical, and teaching respiratory therapy services. The Regional Respiratory Therapist will work under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services and/or designate, following the employer's mission, values, and management philosophy.
Under the general supervision of the Manager Health Services and/or designate, the incumbent provides therapeutic, diagnostic, technical and teaching respiratory therapy services consistent with discipline and professional standards while adhering to the employers' mission, values and management philosophy.
Recent and related clinical experience is preferred for this position. The candidate must have an entry-to-practice academic credential in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited Canadian program or a MARRT approved equivalent. Current registration with the MARRT and membership in the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists is preferred. The candidate must also have certifications in BLS - Provider, NRP, ACLS, and PALS.
The successful candidate must have knowledge of the Regulated Health Professions Act, Professional Standards of Practice, and Code of Ethics. They must be able to respect and promote a culturally diverse population and have proficiency in both official languages for designated bilingual positions. A valid Class 5 driver's license, an all-purpose insured vehicle, and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.00 are required.
The candidate must be able to meet the physical and mental demands of the job, work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary, and travel to other regional facilities as required.
