As a Respiratory Therapist I at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, you will assess patients, develop care plans, and monitor progress. You will work with diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, collaborate with clinical teams, provide training, and educate patients and families. Key Responsibilities:
Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Graduate from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy and eligible to write or have passed the National Respiratory Certification Exam.
Maintain current active registration with CRTA and basic life support certification.
Demonstrate competency in all job phases and adaptability to new procedures.
Stay current with advances in respiratory therapy and departmental practices.
Possess clear communication, organization, and consistency in verbal and written communication.
Show motivation, confidence, and a positive attitude aligned with AHS Values.
Use critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment in decision-making.
Work independently and collaboratively, fostering effective relationships with peers and caregivers.
Demonstrate reliability, time management, prioritization, and task completion skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Current acute care and charge therapist experience in a tertiary teaching hospital.
Experience in precepting students and developing quality initiatives.
Certification in Advanced Life Support, Arterial Line Insertion, and IV Insertion.
Membership of Rapid Response team and active participation on committees.
