As a Respiratory Therapist I at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, you will assess patients, develop and implement care plans, and monitor progress. You will handle diagnostic and therapeutic equipment, collaborate with clinical teams, provide training, and educate patients and families on respiratory health. The position offers flexibility in scheduling and opportunities to work in various clinical settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA).
Graduate from a recognized School of Respiratory Therapy and eligible for the National Respiratory Certification Exam.
Maintain current active registration with CRTA and basic life support certification.
Stay current with advances in respiratory therapy and departmental practices.
Demonstrate clear communication, organization, and consistency in all tasks.
Possess critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and sound judgment.
Work independently and collaboratively with peers and caregivers.
Prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and complete assignments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in acute care and charge therapist roles in a teaching hospital.
Orientation to major and minor clinical areas, precepting students, and quality initiatives.
Certifications in Advanced Life Support, Arterial Line Insertion, and IV Insertion.
Membership on Rapid Response teams and active participation in committees.
