As a Respiratory Therapist I at Alberta Children's Hospital, you will be responsible for assessing patients, developing care plans, and monitoring progress. You will work in dynamic environments such as PICU, NICU, and the Emergency Department, contributing to process improvement and maintaining professional practice. Your role will involve utilizing clinical, communication, and teamwork skills to support optimal outcomes for patients.
Key Responsibilities:
Assess patients and develop respiratory therapy care plans
Monitor patient progress and collaborate with clinical teams
Provide training on respiratory equipment and educate patients and families
Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA)
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current BCLS-HCP Certification, including expiration date
Minimum of 6 months Tertiary Critical Care experience within the last 3 years
Preferred Qualifications:
Pediatric experience
Level III NICU experience
Formal preceptor training
Current PALS certification including expiration date
Current NRP certification including expiration date
Team lead experience
Commitment to a multidisciplinary committee within the past 2 years
Experience with rapid response team/Transport/ECLS
