The Respiratory Therapist I position involves providing diagnostic, therapeutic, and educational respiratory health services to patients at Red Deer Regional Hospital. Responsibilities include assessing patients, developing care plans, monitoring progress, and utilizing diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Collaboration with clinical teams, training healthcare providers, and educating patients and families on diseases, medications, and treatments are also key aspects of the role.
Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Graduation from a recognized school of Respiratory Therapy.
Registered Respiratory Therapist in good standing with CARTA.
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) and NRP certification.
Minimum one year acute care experience in ICU, ED, NICU, or wards.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities.
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and foster partnerships.
Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
ACLS certification preferred.
Experience in computer applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) desired.
Experience with Meditech and Laboratory Specimen ordering preferred.
