Description:
This advanced level Respiratory Therapist II position involves performing specialized pulmonary diagnostic testing procedures and treatments, such as pulmonary function testing, bronchial challenge testing, arterial blood acquisition/analysis, and assisting with interventional bronchoscopy procedures and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. Responsibilities include quality assurance of testing results, maintenance of testing equipment, and active participation in education and training.
As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will coordinate, monitor, and assess clinical services in your assigned area, act as a clinical resource for daily operations, develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans, and monitor patient progress. You will also identify equipment requirements, maintain supplies, and participate in interprofessional rounds and meetings.

Required Qualifications:
Active or eligible registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CRTA).
Additional Required Qualifications:
Graduate of an Accredited School of Respiratory Therapy
3-5 years acute critical care RRT experience
Current CPR certification
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to work under pressure and handle competing priorities
Proven attention to detail and accuracy
Proficiency in computer software programs
Ability to push/pull a stretcher and lift 15lbs up to waist height
Ability to wear an N95 mask, climb stairs, stand for long periods, work in dim conditions, and wear lead gowns and airborne PPE
Preferred Qualifications:
Advanced pulmonary function testing and bronchial challenge testing experience
Bronchoscopy clinic and Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy experience
Clinical instruction/teaching experience
COPD and Asthma Educator certification
Experience using Connect Care and outpatient ambulatory experience
