St. Joseph's Healthcare Hamilton is seeking a Senior Registered Sleep Technologist to oversee daily procedures and supervision in the Sleep Lab. What We are Looking For

Baccalaureate degree in a related field of study

Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) certification

Current BCLS certification

Membership in the Canadian Sleep Society and the American Association of Sleep Technologists

Proof of leadership training is preferred

Demonstrated evidence of leadership skills and issue management with a minimum of 5 to 7 years of proven ability to lead teams effectively

Research experience is an asset

Patient relation skills and strong verbal and communication skills

Advanced computer skills preferred

Demonstrated knowledge, sensitivity, and expertise in the care of seniors and their families

Gentle Persuasive Approach training is preferred

Your Mission

Your Mission

Liaises with the Medical Director, Manager of the Sleep Disorders Program in the planning, coordination of various activities of the Sleep Disorders Program and acts as an expert and resource for Human Resource issues that are relevant to the discipline including the following:
 Ensures professionspecific credentialing and orientation requirements are met and provides consultation when performance gaps are identified
 Provides input into performance evaluation activities related to professional practice issues
 Contributes to the development of job descriptions for the specific discipline within the organization and collaborates with management in recruitment of additional staff
 Provides consultation to program leadership in the identification of appropriate professionspecific staffing levels within a program
 Collaborates with management to ensure appropriate workload and patient activity targets and uniform workload and patient activity data as required by the organization
 Consults with managers to provide adequate coverage in the event of sickness, vacation, and other temporary absences/ vacancies
 As PPL performs the following quality assurance responsibilities:
 Collaborates with managers in the development, implementation, evaluation, and maintenance of quality improvement initiatives which are in alignment with established SJHH standards
 Monitors quality improvement outcomes on a regular basis; develops action plans in consultation with the Medical Director and manager to address identified issues
 Coaches staff to ensure that continuous quality improvement initiatives are incorporated into daytoday activities
 Contributes to performing sleep study analysis reporting, quality review of sleep study analysis and ongoing quality metrics related to sleep studies
 Contributes to organizational Accreditation activities
 Provides staff scheduling within established budget.
 Ensures accurate and timely submission of payroll information.
 Balances revenue generating with nonrevenue generating activities to maintain a neutral budget while still providing service in a timely manner.
