Description:
Tetra Tech is seeking a Senior/Lead Structural Engineering Technologist to join their Power team. This role can be performed from anywhere in Canada. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in structural design projects for various infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee the preparation of structural designs, drawings, and specifications for various projects.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate technologists.
Review technical documents, reports, and calculations to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Establish strong working relationships with clients, project teams, and stakeholders.
Conduct site visits, inspections, and assessments to ensure project compliance.
Assist in proposal preparation, estimates, and client interactions.
Apply knowledge of industry codes and standards in project execution.
Ensure designs incorporate sustainable and innovative engineering solutions.
Maintain a high level of discipline knowledge and awareness.
Work in a safe manner and report health and safety incidents.
Required Qualifications:
Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering Technology.
10+ years of experience in structural design within relevant sectors.
Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) designation preferred.
Strong proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Revit.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit or stand as required for at least 50% of the workday.
Frequent use of hands and fingers for computer and office equipment operation.
Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
Majority of work in a professional office setting.
Periodic travel may be required with limited exposure to extreme temperatures.
