Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent

Additional Required Qualifications:

Valid N95 fit testing completed within the last 2 years

Valid Basic Life Support: Health Care Provider Level (BLS/HCP)

Fluent in speaking/reading/writing English

Ability to follow verbal & written instructions

Demonstrated ability to walk, stand, and lift heavy objects

Verbal, numerical, and clerical abilities

Reliable, cooperative, and effective service attitude

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience as a porter in an Acute Care Facility

As a Service Worker I  IOC Porter your responsibilities will include delivering patients to and from medical/surgical unit in a safe and professional manner, delivering equipment as requested as well as surgical instruments to different Operating areas, communicating effectively with other health care professionals, adhering to all health and safety policies and procedure, routine cleaning of equipment as needed and collaborating to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our transport team. Service Worker 1 may also be assigned as dispatcher and will be responsible for receiving and recording requests, prioritizing movement calls regarding patients, sterile/clean equipment and instruments, lab calls, dirty equipment/instruments and dispatches porters accordingly
