As a Service Worker I at the University of Alberta Hospital, you will assist nursing staff in maintaining a clean and safe patient care environment. Your responsibilities will include preparing and cleaning hemodialysis equipment, restocking supplies, transporting patients and specimens, and performing other assigned duties. You will report any concerns to Unit Managers and work under supervision or independently as needed.
Key Responsibilities:
Transport patients and equipment within the hospital
Distribute and replenish hospital supplies
Clean equipment and patient care areas
Transport lab specimens, blood, and patient charts
Report concerns to Unit Managers
Perform other assigned duties
Qualifications:
Grade 12 or equivalent
Additional Required Qualifications:
Current Basic Cardiac Life Support -- Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs multiple times a day
High motivation and organizational skills
Ability to work as a team or independently
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous hospital Service Worker experience
Familiarity with hemodialysis equipment
Good communication skills in English
Successful completion of orientation and buddy shifts
