Position Summary: Reporting to the Program Manager of Outpatient Services and under the supervision of the ACT team leader, the Social Worker is responsible for providing client-centered clinical services in a facility or community setting. Responsibilities include clinical and risk assessments, consultation, coordination, education, advocacy, liaising with community partners, and conducting individual and group therapy. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, the Social Worker promotes community treatment and collaborates with resources to meet individual needs. The Social Worker follows BGH policies and OCSWSSW regulations.

Requirements:

Masters Degree in social work from an accredited institution

Registration with OCSWSSW

Valid Class G Ontario driver's license

Current BCLS and CPR certification

Non-Violent Crisis Prevention and Intervention Training

Experience and Knowledge:

Minimum of three years experience in individual and group psychotherapies

Ability to conduct assessments and provide advocacy and referral

Knowledge of various therapy modalities

Familiarity with DSM 5 criteria and relevant legislation

Commitment to Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice

Ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment

Knowledge of community resources and programs

Participation in research and quality improvement

Sensitivity to stigma and commitment to multicultural care

Support and supervision for social work students

Excellent presentation, communication, and computer skills

Strong attendance and availability
