Description:
The Department of Social Supports and Well-Being is seeking a Social Worker I to join their team. Reporting to the Client Services Manager, this role involves working with clients with complex needs, conducting assessments, providing counseling support, navigating support services, and collaborating with various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Interview clients to assess needs
Provide counseling support
Assist clients in navigating support services and systems
Collaborate with Client Services Officers, Career Development Specialists, and community stakeholders
Accept referrals and provide assistance related to child support procedures
Key Qualifications:
Bachelor of Social Work degree
Clinical social work experience
Experience in conducting assessments to determine client needs
Experience in providing counseling and referral services
Experience in coordinating services between agencies (asset)
Assessment Criteria:
Knowledge of professional social work practices and standards
Case management and risk assessment skills
Counseling skills and ability to exchange information effectively
Ability to work in a team or independently
Ability to manage stress and client service orientation
Conditions of Offer:
Recent and satisfactory police Certificate of Conduct
Recent and satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Query
Registration as a professional social worker with NLCSW
Conditions of Acceptance:
Acknowledge requirement for occasional day travel
