Description:

McKesson is seeking a Sr. Clinical Applications Engineer to serve as a subject matter expert and analyst for clinical applications, including Laboratory, Pharmacy, and PMS. Responsibilities include implementation, support, and optimization of various clinical applications to meet organizational objectives and user needs. The role involves collaborating with internal and external teams to enhance clinical workflows, identify gaps, and create optimization plans.

The Sr. Clinical Applications Engineer will also provide second-level support for clinical applications, diagnose complex issues, coordinate vendor meetings, and manage technical aspects of application systems. Key responsibilities include representing MSH IT in planning, advising on strategic objectives, and communicating effectively with stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of experience in healthcare IT solutions, with expertise in Pharmacy applications and a collaborative, customer-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent MSH IT in planning with other business units
  • Advise on real-world clinical workflow
  • Collaborate on strategic business objectives
  • Communicate effectively with various stakeholders
  • Assist in design and testing of Laboratory, Pharmacy, and EHR applications
  • Identify and develop new use-cases for content delivery
  • Support business process re-engineering efforts
  • Contribute to the development of new ideas and methods
  • Work on complex problems requiring in-depth evaluation
  • Analysis of business processes and identification of improvement opportunities
  • Minimum Requirements:

  • 6+ years' experience in implementing or supporting healthcare IT solutions
  • Experience in business analysis and workflow processes
  • Critical Skills:

  • 6+ years of Pharmacy applications experience
  • Subject matter expertise in Pharmacy business practices
  • Collaborative, customer-focused attitude
  • Leadership style that builds collaboration
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities
  • Additional Knowledge & Skills: Healthcare operations and general clinical applications experience highly desired

    Education: 4-year degree in computer science or related field or equivalent experience

    Physical Requirements: Working Conditions - Traditional office environment. Travel occasionally, 10%
