Description:

Our Health Care Operations department is seeking a Technical Rules Analyst to ensure timely referrals-to-treatment for injured workers and accurate payments to healthcare providers. This role involves translating complex business policies into actionable rules, optimizing systems, and enhancing payment accuracy. The position includes analyzing health care data, recommending improvements, and collaborating with various teams to implement changes.

There are two temporary opportunities available for 12 and 15 months. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in protecting the financial integrity of B.C.'s workers' compensation system.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, analyze, and maintain business rules based on requirements
  • Lead cross-divisional committees to implement rule changes
  • Analyze health care data to identify gaps and recommend improvements
  • Support the implementation of rule changes and system updates
  • Develop communication strategies for distributing information
  • Provide input into contract negotiation and proposed service delivery changes
  • Consult on and implement projects, prepare schedules, and measure results
  • Provide work direction to the technical rules administrator
  • Qualifications:

  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate activities in a changing environment
  • Understand and communicate business and technical information clearly
  • Apply project management techniques
  • Present data using MS Excel and Word
  • The ideal candidate will have a degree in business administration or a related field, at least three years of experience in business analysis, and knowledge of healthcare. Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word is required, and familiarity with Tableau and SQL is an asset. Legal entitlement to work in Canada is a prerequisite for employment at WorkSafeBC.
