**Veterinary Assistant/Receptionist**

**Part-Time to Full-Time Position**

We are a private, full-service, small animal hospital looking for the right person to join our team! We practice excellent veterinary medicine and focus on EXCEPTIONAL customer service and client care. We need an applicant who is friendly, very comfortable answering phones, and enjoys interacting with people. Prior experience with dogs and cats is preferred. A love for animals and a compassionate nature IS a requirement. You must be a hard worker with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn. You get along well with others but are able to work independently.

You have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

  • The ideal candidate will have completed a veterinary assistant or veterinary office/receptionist certificate program from a community college, and/or have prior experience working in a veterinary hospital
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
  • Superior multi-tasking skills and a proactive nature
  • Computer skills and experience with AVImark is beneficial

    • Duties of this role include:

  • Animal care and treatment (care & restraint of patients, assisting with procedures, assisting the vet & RVTs with appointments, surgical preparation, helping out in all aspects with hospitalized patients)
  • Client services (answering phones, scheduling appointments, invoicing clients, explaining medications, general communication with clients in person, over the phone and by e-mail)
  • Hospital maintenance (laundry, stocking supplies, vacuuming/mopping, general cleaning)
  • Maintaining communication with the veterinarians and technicians (RVTs) to ensure efficient workflow throughout the day

    • Rate of pay: Minimum $18/hour. Based on applicant's previous experience

    Shifts will be within our normal business hours:

    Mondays: 8am -- 6pm

    Tuesdays: 8am -- 6pm

    Wednesdays: 8am -- 8pm

    Thursdays: 8am -- 6pm

    Fridays: 8am -- 6pm

    Saturdays 9am -- 2pm (every other Saturday required -- we are CLOSED on long weekends)
