Description:

The Youth Peer Support Worker position at Vancouver Coastal Health in North Vancouver, BC involves providing online and in-person peer support services to youth and individuals with mental health or substance use challenges. Key Responsibilities:

  • Grade 12 education
  • Completion of a recognized Peer Support Training Program
  • Two years of recent related experience in a peer support role
  • Lived experience with recovery from mental illness
  • Qualifications:

  • Ability to use lived experience to connect with youth
  • Knowledge of mental health and substance use resources
  • Experience in using a strength-based approach
  • Ability to work with diverse populations
  • Skills in conflict resolution and crisis intervention
  • The position may require changes in work hours and location based on operational needs. Successful applicants must undergo a Criminal Records Review Check. Health care workers must report vaccination history as per Ministry of Health policy.
